About new projects
Mikhail KARAVAEV, Omsk Carbon Mogilev (Republic of Belarus), Director:
On 29 July, 2014, a ceremony of burying a time capsule was held on the site of Omsk Carbon Mogilev. The ceremony symbolized the end of the pre-investment phase and commencement of the construction of a new carbon black plant.
The plant in Mogilev with the capacity of 120,000 tons of carbon black per year will become OCG’s third production center. Belshina JSC, which is a resident of the Mogilev Free Economic Zone too, will be the main customer of the new plant (around 60,000 tons per year). The rest of its products will mainly be exported outside the Republic.
The implementation of the Belarusian project is one more step of technical progress and innovation-driven growth. The project involves transferring knowhow and experience of the Russian leader in the production of carbon black, which is classified as a nano-product in Europe.
We expect that our project will strengthen competitive positions of Belorussian and Russian companies on the global market and are confident it will bring a great synergy to both the Russian and the Belorussian economies.
